MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AT REGISTRATION

 

 1) What ages can participate in SPAA?

To be eligible to participate in the 2012 season, boys and girls must turn 4 before July 31, 2012.  We offer adult leagues so there is really no age that is too old.    

 

 2)  Where do I register?

You may register online at www.spaa.com or come in to the SPAA office at 19 Main Street, St. Peters, MO. 

 

 3) Can my child play with his/her friend?

Yes.  When filling out your form there is a box for putting friends name down. 

 

 4) When will the season start and how many games will they play?

4 year old T-ball will begin May 5 and will be a 6 week program ending on June 16 (with no rain and taking off Memorial weekend)

 5 year old t-ball will begin May 5 and will be a 10 week program ending on July 14 (with no rain and taking off Memorial weekend)

 The regular league (12 games) and boys AA (14 games) season (ages 6 – 14) will start in mid April and continue through July.

 10U Double Header girls will begin on April 20 and play 16 games (no play Memorial weekend Friday)

 12U Double Header girls will begin on April 20 and play 16 games (no play Memorial weekend Friday)

 14U Double Header girls will begin on April 19 and play 16 games

 16/18 Double Header girls will begin on May 14 and play 16 games (no play Memorial Day)

 19 & Over men’s league and ladies league will begin June 2 and play 10 games on Saturday’s and Sunday’s

 

 5) Do I get to pick the night or field my child plays on?

The 4 and 5 year old T-ball program will play on Saturdays.  The regular leagues will play on 20 different fields in 5 different locations and the games will be on Monday through Friday nights, with the weekends used for make ups.  Sports Complex and Old Town Park are located in Old Town St. Peters; Shady Springs Park is at Cave Springs behind the YMCA; Woodlands Park is off of Ohmes Road; and Strehl Field is on Highway N.

 

 6) Is there Concession duty?

Parent Participation is used in our concession stands and arranged on a team basis.  Each team is required to do approximately 15 hours of concession duty or buy out at $350.00/team.  The 4 and 5 year old t-ball league and the 19 & Over  league teams are exempt from concession duty.

 

 7) Is the uniform provided?

A t-shirt is provided for the t-ball league and a t-shirt and hat allowance is provided for Pee Wee I and Pee Wee II players.  Other age groups provide their own uniforms and must all look alike.

 

 8)  Is SPAA part of the City of St. Peters?

No, SPAA is an independent youth baseball/softball organization.  There is no residency requirement to participate in SPAA. 

 

 9) Are you looking for managers and coaches?

All of our managers and coaches are volunteers.  At individual registration you may sign up to manage a team, providing a manager is still needed.  Managers will then pick their own coaches.

 

10) What is the cost to play?

            4 year old T-ball is $50.00/player (not family discount eligible)

            5 year old T-ball is $80.00/player (not family discount eligible)

            6 – 18 year olds – regular 12 game schedule is $95.00 with family discounts available

            Girls Double Header leagues are $900.00/team (not family discount eligible)

            19 & Over men’s league and ladies league is $80.00/player (not family discount eligible)

 

11) What is the family discount?

$20.00 discount will be deducted online for multiple children in the same family registering at the same time that qualify for the family discount.  If you believe you qualify and were not given the discount, please contact the SPAA office at 636-397-3149.
