It
is our intent to have players with similar skill levels play against each other
so that all players may enjoy success.
To this end, the SPAA Board of Directors adopts a philosophy
that places the emotional and physical well being of our players ahead of any
desire to win. As an organization,
we accentuate that our managers do their best to organize practices that are fun
and challenging for all our players and develop
personal baseball skills necessary to allow that player to advance to the next
higher level of play within the association or beyond.
We
stress that our Managers lead by example in demonstrating fair play and
sportsmanship to all players and treat each player as an individual, remembering
the large range of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
We keep in mind that children are great repeaters of what they have
heard. The SPAA governs by the
creedo “Do unto others as you would like others to do unto you” when dealing
with umpires and opposing managers, coaches and fans.
The
SPAA emphasizes the game is for the children and not the adults and that this
game should be fun for the kids. If
it is not fun, then we have lost site of what it is all about. In the years to come the SPAA Board of Directors hopes to
continue our expansion and continued success in developing the children of the
St. Peters community.
