Fall schedules are ready to be picked up at the SPAA office. The fall season begins Monday, August 11

Rule of the Week: At any time during the game with the offensive team’s pitcher or catcher of record on base, the manager of the team at bat has the option of substituting a courtesy runner for the pitcher or catcher. If the pitcher and catcher are both on base, the manager may choose a courtesy runner for only one of them. This is allowed only once per half inning, for the pitcher or catcher, but not both. The courtesy runner must be the player who made the last out. If the player who made the last out is not available to run, no courtesy runner is to be allowed.

Note: The pitcher or catcher of record are the active players in these positions not those coming in the following inning.

Field Workers Wanted for 2008 Season

Part Time Field Workers Needed through the Fall 2008 Season.

Must be available to start by March 1 (weather permitting).

Must but be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

20 or 32 hours per week, additional hours possible.

Prior field worker experience not required but desirable.

Job requires heavy lifting and use of various field equipment.

Board Members Needed

SPAA Signage Program

The SPAA is an organization that relies on voluntary help of its members. The Board organizes the activities and sets the policies of our league. When elected, board members are elected for a 3-year term. All Board of Director rolls are done on a volunteer basis.

Here are some of the requirements;

Open to Parents, coaches, and managers over 21 years of age.

Scheduled meetings held at 7 PM on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.

Work on two or three SPAA committees that meet 1-3 times per year.

Have 2 full weeks of board duty during the summer and approximately 12 days of duty in the fall.

Help out at the team registration and at least one individual registration.

Attend 2 managers meetings per year. (March and November)

Being a board member does require some time, however, nothing makes you feel prouder than a team or parent telling you they are playing in SPAA because it is the best ran organization around. That is a direct reflection on the SPAA Board of Directors and our managers.
